"Apart from the sentimental attachment, we'll lose competition and it'll cost us more in the long run." Bill started working at the post office when he was 14 and learned there to use the telegraph. He later became a dispatcher in St. John's, and sent the Newfie Bullet on its final run from Port aux Basques to St. John's, Dec. 31, 1969. He and his wife, Pauline, enjoy a quiet life now in Spaniard's Bay, living behind Pauline's mother, Aunt Ida Chipman
