Summary:Opened in 1943, The Curtis Academy was a United Church school for boys and girls in St. John's. Its magazine was published beginning in 1944 and contains both school news and creative writing. The 1960 issue, retitled Curtis Annual, was commemorative and includes historical information. The institution was reduced to elementary programs only by the 1960s and the building itself was destroyed by fire in 1975. (Wayne C.
