Description
Summary:What the inshore fishermen say -- What some of the merchants say -- The strike -- The bright spots -- The problem areas -- Herring -- Other alternatives -- Training -- The outside experts talk -- Editorial -- The last word. "The fishery" (cover). -- Frequency: irregular, vol. 1 - vol. 2, no. 3 (1968-73); bimonthly, vol. 2, no. 4 - vol. 22, no. 2 (1973-93); not published March-October 1982, May-July 1991. The first publication entitled Decks Awash was a 1964-65 newsletter summarizing the content of the Memorial University Extension Service television program of the same name (1964-77). Between 1968-93 a new Decks Awash journal was published independent of the show, covering topics of interest to both fishermen and rural Newfoundlanders, including fisheries equipment and policy, agricultural development and community profiles.
