| Summary: | Holloway's goal was to increase the island's renown as a holiday destination and land of economic opportunity (Preface). To this end his work comprises a large collection of his own photographs, matched with an overview of Newfoundland which includes geography, the fisheries, agriculture, industry, and recreation. It also includes a series of one-page government advertisements aimed at tourists and investors, covering the island's natural beauty, fish and game laws, forestry and farming regulations, mineral wealth, and patent laws. A fold-out map shows the rail lines and coastal steamship routes. Includes advertisements.
