Description
Summary:This book is an account of the histories of the Islands of Cape Breton and Saint John, or Prince Edward Island. Many of the chapters dealing with Cape Breton discuss topics such as the community of Louisbourg, the animals found on the island, manners and characteristics of the native population, and military establishments. Several sections are also devoted to the Island of Saint John, including letters describing the government and customs of that area. An account of the English Seige of Louisbourg in 1758 is also included in one of the letters. Other letters discuss the importance of Cape Breton to both the English and French powers.
