Summary:This book is a description of the author's travels through Canada and the United States. Chapters include information on New York City, Baltimore, Washington, meeting with the President, and the working class population of America. Canadian content includes a description of Nova Scotia, with a section dedicated to Cape Breton, as well as Halifax and New Glasgow. Newfoundland is also discussed at length in this text, along with Montreal and Kingston. In each area the author describes the local customs, religions, and differences in population, and makes some observations on the native populations. A number of illustrations are included.
