Summary:This book is a description of the author's journey across Canada, from Newfoundland to Alaska. Chapters detail the begnnings of his trip in Newfoundland, through Manitoba and the wheat fields, the western Prairies, the Rockies in British Columbia, and finally Alaska. Information is provided on Russian influence in Alaska, and eventually the transfer of the territory to the United States. An account of the author's long winter spent in Alaska is also included, as well as searching for gold, and meeting with Eskimos. Several illustrations are provided throughout this text.
