He learned how to build boats from his grandfather and earned a living as a carpenter. In 1964, he married Rosalind (nee Janes) and together they operated a commercial farm. Rosalind published a book titled, “Sufficiently Blessed: Growing up in Trouty” in 2009. Boyd passed away in 2016.
