Eugene Saunders in his Gander River Boat built during winter 2012-13. This boat is 7.3 metres (24 feet) long, 119 cm (47 inches) wide, and 48 cm (19 inches) deep; built with juniper ribs, spruce keel and planks.

Other Authors: Saunders, Eugene, Eugene Saunders was born on Indians Islands in 1944 and moved to Glenwood at the age of three with his parents Frank and Netta Saunders. A carpenter by trade, Eugene has built over 50 Gander River Boats and spent a number of summers working with outfitter camps in various parts of Newfoundland and Labrador.
