Cataloguer's title. -- Town name change: Winterton was named Scilly Cove up to 1912. -- Transcriptions: as the items in this collection are majority hand-written, full-text search is only available for those few with hand-copied transcriptions; this particular item is not transcribed. The Society of United Fishermen (SUF) was founded in 1873 by Rev. George Gardner, a Church of England clergyman. It provided fellowship and mutual support to its members at a time when few services were available to fishermen and their families.
