Description
Summary:This paper summarizes the results of a comprehensive regional reconnaissance investigation of granitoids of northern Victoria Land, Antarctica. The petrographic and chemical data discussed here are the result of studies which include samples of granitoids collected from outcrops scattered over the entire 78,000 km**2 area of northern Victoria Land. In addition, new Sm-Nd and Rb-Sr isotopic data for some of these granitoids are presented and discussed. The goal is to synthesize the granitoid data into a coherent regional picture in order to address questions relating to their origin and tectonic setting.
