Summary: | Recent research has indicated microplastic contamination is ubiquitous throughout the globe. Ongoing research now aims to identify sources and sinks of microplastics to begin mitigation and reclamation of this biologically deleterious pollution. This research project allows insight into microplastic contaminant concentrations within highly secluded sediments of Baffin Bay, Canada. With collaborated efforts this data may help us understand migration patterns of microplastics within the Canadian Archipelago, Davis Strait and Northwest Passage regions.
