Summary:Sustainable technology is implementing more and more in society and is going to be an important part in the future. That is why it is important to introduce and arouse children’s interest in these subjects already in preschool. Children develop mainly through the play and by implementing these subjects in an artefact that the preschool is using, the children are going to integrate with them in a natural way. This paper is the result of a bachelor’s degree thesis, in Industrial design engineering at Luleå university of technology. The project is a freestanding work that has its foundation in an earlier project during the education. The focus on that course was norms and norm creative design. The developed concept was Pusselbilen and the purpose was to arouse girls' interests in technology and inspire them to play with vehicles. The aim with this project is to develop an artefact who are supporting the preschool’s curriculum in different subjects. To obtain the aim, a human centered design process has been used, that is divided in tree parts. Multiple design methods have iteratively been used through the project, to obtain a result with high credibility. The final conceptual artefact, Energiklossen, fulfills the curriculum in multiple areas, mainly in the area of science. It is going to contribute to children’s understanding around kinetics energy and magnetization and at the same time allow children to be creative. Energiklossen is going to contribute to develop children’s problem-solving ability and at the same time encourage them to play together with vehicles. The response on Energiklossen has been positive. The stakeholders say it is an innovative artefact that is going to support the preschool’s education in technology and energy. Hållbar teknik implementeras allt mer i samhället och kan komma att bli en viktig del i framtiden.
