Summary:The purpose of this study is to examine the differences between public and private school teacher’s experiences of their social and psychological work environment and answer two questions. The first one, are environmental factors identified through the experience the differences and what impact do they have on the working environment? And second, is there any difference in how teachers from public and private school experience growing competition? If yes, what can these differences be?To answer the purpose, eight teachers from Luleå private and public schools were interviewed, the outcome has been presented and analyzed against the theories. The conclusions are that the support and time are two key environmental factors; these will mainly affect the private school teachers because they have less time because of marketing assignments. It is an experience difference between public and private school teachers, public school teachers does not notice the competition as much as private school teachers do. This is due to lack of participation in the organization, leading to uncertainty, different basic conditions and local conditions. Validerat; 20120612 (anonymous)
