Summary: | I adapted H.P. Lovecraft’s novella, At the Mountains of Madness, into a feature-length screenplay. The bulk of the story takes place in Antarctica during the 1930’s. In order to successfully retell the story for the screen, I engaged in research related to the frozen continent and the time period. Rather than scale the film to make it larger than life, I wanted to write a quiet, chilling piece that could be shot on a low-budget. Through the course of my writing and research, I ultimately learned the necessities and techniques of true screenwriting. |
