Summary:The study extends the investigation of midlatitude ocean-atmosphere interactions between the North Atlantic sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies and Europe on atmospheric circulation for the period 1990-1999. The SST anomalies at 127 North Atlantic water surface areas (5x5 grid) with totally complete weekly records were analyzed by principal component analysis (PCA) to investigate the spatial pattern of SST anomalies variation.
