Description
Summary:The abundance of flounder and turbot was studied in August 2005 at 17 stations sited along all the Lithuanian coastal zone and in October at 8 stations at the Curonian Spit. Catches were dominated by flounder and turbot in occurrence frequency. However, in August the prevalent species were juveniles of Baltic sprat and smelt and in October small sand eel. The causative factors of turbot and flounder distribution and abundance in the coastal zone were established. The size–age structure of these fish was studied.
