The increased use of telemedicine has resulted in strategic planning by health authorities of how to increase access to specialist consultation. Overview is given of existing and coming telemedicine projects in Iceland. An important issue to be discussed further is to find telemedicine place in routine clinical service in the healthcare system. Markmið greinarinnar er að sýna hvernig þróun fjarlækninga hefur verið í samhengi við öra þróun í upplýsingatækni. Vaxandi notkun fjarlækinga hefur leitt til áætlanagerða um hvernig fjarlækningum skuli beitt til að auka aðgengi að heilbrigðisþjónustu og einnig auðvelda aðgengi að sérfræðiráðgjöf. Yfirlit er gefið um verkefni sem eru í gangi hér á landi og önnur sem eru í undirbúningi. Miklvægt er að finna fjarlækningum sess í daglegum rekstri heilbrigðiskerfisins og hlýtur það að verða í umræðunni á næstunni. |
