Summary:The relevance of the research. Worldwide, type 2 diabetes is considered to be one of the most common diseases (Sami, Ansari, Butt and Hamid, 2017), which is most dependent on body weight and exercise (WHO, 2018a). The most common type 2 diabetes is elderly people, especially those who are overweight (Špadienė, 2015). In Lithuania, the second type of diabetes is growing dramatically. According to the data of the Institute of Hygiene (2016, p. 5): “In 2015, 12386 people were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in Lithuania and this was 92.7%. all cases of diabetes ”. The aim of the research. To reveal the peculiarities of nutrition and physical activity of people with type 2 diabetes. Research tasks. 1. Describe the characteristics of the disease, the importance of nutrition and physical activity in the second type of diabetes; 2. To reveal the habits of nutrition and physical activity of patients with type 2 diabetes; 3. To evaluate the relationship between nutrition and physical activity of patients with type 2 diabetes with a subjective viewpoint on health. The methodology of the research. A quantitative study was conducted. Anonymous questionnaire was conducted and 107 people with type 2 diabetes were interviewed. Microsoft excel 2010 was used to generate and process the results of the responses received. Results and conclusions. 1. The greatest risk factors for type 2 diabetes are high body weight, malnutrition and low physical activity. To control the disease and the complications that occur, you need to have a balanced healthy diet and be physically fit on the basis of the individual`s characteristics. 2. Most of the subjects adhere to the principles of healthy eating, but big part of them only partially. Most of the subjects promote moderate physical activity. Choosing a daily food ration for most respondents is appropriate. In type 2 diabetes, almost half of the subjects changed their eating habits. 3.
