Summary: | 20 p. The summer 1977 appearance of large migrating flocks of North American Knots, 'Calidris canutus rufus~ in the Plymouth, Massachusetts' area, precipitated a field study of that bird's feeding ecology. Under the auspices of the Manomet Bird Observatoyy, the study includes descriptions of feeding and flock behavior, and identification and quantification of the birds' ptey. Findings differed from those of other investigators, who worked with other races of Knots in other locales. |
