Description
Summary:Seed storage experiment was carried out for 28 alpine species in Northwest Caucasus. We tested seed germiability for fresh collected seeds, winter storage on soil surface and soil burial treatment (1, 2, 3 and 5 years). Most of the species showed higher germiability after one winter storage on soil surface. Germiability of burial seeds decreased from one to five year sto-rage. Only two species (Leontodon hispidus, Senecio aurantiacus) germinated after 5 years burial in soils.
