Впервые описывается хромосомный набор волка на Северном Кавказе, а также приводятся данные о современном распространении волка на этой территории с учетом горных экосистем Кавказа. Приводятся данные о численности волка, по ее регулированию в природных и антропогенных экосистемах Северного Кавказа.
