Summary: | The data on the finds of the bone remains of a black rat in the layers of archaeological sites of the 4th ‒ 18th centuries AD is presented from the territory of the Volga River basin. It is shown that the distribution of the black rat in the Middle Ages covered most of the Volga region. The largest number of finds of remains of this species was noted in the era of active development of urbanization and intensive development of trade routes in this area. |
