About the Black Flies (Diptera, Simuliidae) Collection of the Zoology Department in Lesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University

The content and condition of the black flies (Simuliidae) collection was analyzed. It has been collected byK. B.Sukhomlin,O. P.Zinchenko, V. S.Teplyuk, A. M.Teplyuk, students of the faculty during 1990–2017.Collection contains the preparations and samples donated by Professor Z. V. Usova, in particular, 9 spiral samples from Great Britain, Norway and Finland and 137 micropreparations from the Ukrainian Carpathians, Chukotka Peninsula of the Russian Federation, Armenia and Norway. The collection contains materials which are the result of cooperation between specialists of the Zoology Department and staff of the parasitological department of the Central Sanitary andEpidemiological Station of the Ukrainian Ministry of Health during the period of 2004–2009. The study was carried out to audit the collection of Simuliidae. The collection is kept in the laboratory of fauna and taxonomy of invertebrate animals of the Western Polissya biocenoses at the Department of Zoology of theLesya Ukrainka Eastern European National University. Geography of collection includes materials from several hundred spots on the territory of Ukraine and European countries. A significant part of the collection refers to the areas along the motorways and within the cities of Ukraine. The collection consists of ready-made preparations with diagnostic features on slides and imago, pupae and larvae fixed inetanol. 2558 specimens of 84 species are contained in Canadian balsam. The spirit material contains 2689 tubes with larvae, pupae and imagorepresented as unpreparated specimens. In the laboratory of fauna and taxonomy of invertebrate animals of the Western Polissya biocenoses besides the collection of Simuliidae, there are also materials (field diaries and journals, a detailed list of manufactured preparations, etc.) which are directly related to the collection. The 30-year collecting of Simuliidae represented in the collection allows to carry out a faunistic analysis aimed at identifying trends of species composition under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors. The collection is in good condition and may be interesting for a wide range of specialists. Проаналізовано вміст і стан колекції мошок (Simuliidae), яка зібрана К. Б. Сухомлін, О. П. Зінченком, В. С. Теплюком, А. М. Теплюк, студентами факультету впродовж 1990–2017 рр. Вона містить препарати та проби, подаровані професором З. В. Усовою, зокрема, 9 вологих проб із Великої Британії, Норвегії та Фінляндії й 137 мікропрепаратів з Українських Карпат, Чукотки Російської Федерації, Вірменії та Норвегії. У колекції зберігаються матеріали співпраці фахівців кафедри зоології з працівниками паразитологічного відділу Центральної санітарно-епідеміологічної станції МОЗ України у 2004–2009 рр. Роботу проведено задля ревізії колекції мошок. Колекція зберігається в лабораторії фауни і систематики безхребетних тварин біоценозів Західного Полісся кафедри зоології Східноєвропейського національного університету імені Лесі Українки. Географія зборів уключає матеріали, зібрані в декількох сотнях точок території України та країн Європи. Значна частина зборів належить до пунктів, розміщених уздовж автомобільних трас, а також у межах міст України. Колекція складається з готових препаратів із діагностичними ознаками на предметних скельцях і заспиртованих особин імаго, лялечок і личинок. 2558 препаратів міститься в канадському бальзамі й презентують 84 види симуліїд. Спиртовий матеріал складається з 2689 пробірок із личинками, лялечками та імаго, представлений здебільшого невідпрепарованими екземплярами. У лабораторії фауни і систематики безхребетних тварин біоценозів Західного Полісся, окрім колекції мошок, наявні також матеріали (польові щоденники й журнали, детальний перелік виготовлених препаратів і т. ін.), які мають безпосереднє відношення до неї. 30-річні збори мошок, представлені в колекції, дають змогу провести фауністичний аналіз, спрямований на виявлення тенденцій зміни видового складу під впливом природних та антропогенних чинників. Колекція перебуває в хорошому стані й може зацікавити широке коло фахівців.
