Summary:Finding of Middle Valday sediments in Karelia and its palaeogeographic significance The sub-Quaternary surface on the Karelian Isthmus displays differentiated relief and it is covered with glacial series of various age, beginning from the Dneper Glaciation. The series of Valday sediments includes peat attributed on the grounds of radiocarbon dating to the Middle Valday Megainterstadial. The paper presents chronostratigraphy of the Middle Valday sediments.
