Summary:An integrated approach to the development of regional telemedicine information system and analysis of its functioning in a major region with low population density are presented. The main directions in the development of telemedicine systems are identified. Newly developed and practically tested technology of distance consulting of medical images is presented. Представлен комплексный подход построения региональной телемедицинской информационной системы, анализ ее работы в крупном регионе с низкой плотностью населения. Выявлены основные направления развития телемедицинских систем, представлена разработанная и апробированная на практике технология дистанционного консультирования медицинских изображений.
