Summary: | [Extract] Economic Geology published 100 papers in 2013, 19 more than in 2012, equivalent to almost two additional issues. Two special issues were published among the eight issues, including one on the giant Pebble porphyry Cu-Au-Mo deposit and surrounding region (Issue 3, 9 papers), and one on magmatic sulfide mineralization (Issue 8, 13 papers). The first authors of the papers are from 21 countries, mostly from Australia (22), USA (18), Canada (16) and China (12), followed by UK (6), South Africa (4), Switzerland (3), Brazil (3), France (2), Germany (2), Russia (2), and Belgium, Chile, Croatia, Finland, India, Iran, Italy, Japan Spain and Sweden (1 each). The 100 papers cover 15 metals or metal groups: Ag, Al, Au, Cr, Cu, Fe, Li, Mo, Ni, Pb, PGE, REE, Sn, U, and Zn. There were no papers on W, a strategic metal, and Sn was briefly documented in a paper on an Archean volcanic-hosted massive sulfide (VHMS) district. Deposits from 32 countries were reported, mostly from USA (18), China (13), Australia (11), followed by Canada (6), South Africa (5), Brazil (3), and Chile, India, Indonesia, Mali, Papua New Guinea, and Tanzania (2 each), plus Bulgaria, Colombia, Congo, Denmark (Greenland), Ecuador, France, Greece, Iran, Italy, Japan, Kosovo, Mexico, Morocco, Namibia, New Caledonia, Norway, Peru, Sweden, Tunisia, and Turkey (1 each).
