Description
Summary:This article examines the role of reindeer husbandry in the life of the peoples of Siberia and the Far East in modern market conditions. Since ancient times, reindeer husbandry has played a key role in the agriculture of the peoples of Siberia and the Far East. The first detailed descriptions of Nenets reindeer husbandry appeared at the end of the XVIII-th century. These territories are characterized by two species: the Finnish reindeer for Siberia and R. T. Phylarchus Hollister for the Far East. This is one of the most important resources for these lands. This is their specific feature. Based on the study, it was concluded that the desire to take reindeer husbandry out of the market economy, to develop it exclusively as the basis of the traditional way of life of indigenous peoples will not bring the expected results. http://agrarianhistory.com/archive/en/4
