Część teoretyczna pracy została poświęcona zagadnieniu specyfiki sztuki i historii Saamów. Zdiagnozowanie przemian, które miały miejsce w sztuce Saami w ciągu ostatnich stu lat stanowi podstawę dla późniejszej analizy tkanin artystycznych autorstwa Britty Marakatt-Labby. Analiza twórczości artystki skupia się zarówno na formalnych, jak i ikonograficznych wątkach, które nawiązują do tradycji Saamów, ich światopoglądu, historii czy wierzeń. Część praktyczna pracy to projekt wystawy monograficznej Britty Marakatt-Labby, która została zaprojektowana nie tylko jako prezentacja dorobku artystycznego artystki, ale także jako opowieść o ludzie Saami - ich tradycji, kulturze i historii. The purpose of this paper is to analyze Britta Marakatt-Labba's art textiles, specifically how she marks her identity as a Sámi artist and how she constructs the narrative of the works to create representations of Sámi culture. The theoretical part of the work was devoted to the issue of the specificity of Sámi art and history. The diagnosis of the transformations that have taken place in Sámi art over the past hundred years forms the basis for the subsequent analysis of the artistic textiles by Britta Marakatt-Labba. The analysis of the artist's works focuses on both formal and iconographic themes that relate to Sámi traditions, their worldview, history or beliefs. The practical part of the work is the project of a monographic exhibition of Britta Marakatt-Labba, which is designed not only as a presentation of the artist's artistic achievements, but also as a story about the Sámi people - their traditions, culture and history.
