| Summary: | Przedmiotem pracy są zachowania informacyjne studentów Wydziału Zarządzania i Komunikacji Społecznej Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. Natomiast głównym celem badania jest poznanie, jak grupa studentów WZiKS UJ pozyskuje informacje potrzebne do napisania pracy dyplomowej, jakie ma wtedy potrzeby informacyjne, z jakich źródeł korzysta, na jakie bariery natrafia oraz jak radzi sobie z napotkanymi problemami. Techniką wykorzystaną do przeprowadzenia badań była ankieta. Udział w badaniu wzięło 136 osób, z czego 74 były na etapie przygotowywania pracy dyplomowej. Z badań wynika, że największa część respondentów podczas poszukiwań materiałów potrzebnych do napisania pracy dyplomowej wpisuje w okno wyszukiwarki/katalogu/bazy danych konkretne słowa/zdania. Podczas poszukiwań respondenci zawężają wyniki wyszukiwawcze głównie do tematyki publikacji zbliżonej do tematyki prac dyplomowych. Badana grupa równie często sięga po publikacje tradycyjne, jak i elektroniczne. Odpłatny dostęp do źródeł jest dla badanej grupy największą barierą podczas pozyskiwania materiałów potrzebnych do napisania pracy dyplomowej z Internetu. Zaś w bibliotece barierę stanowi brak potrzebnych publikacji oraz możliwość skorzystania z publikacji tylko w czytelni. Ankietowani najczęściej starali się sami poradzić z przeszkodami i zmieniali sposób wyszukiwania informacji, a w przypadku problemów napotkanych w bibliotece odwiedzali ją w innych godzinach lub korzystali z usług innej biblioteki. The subject of the research is the information behaviour of students of the Faculty of Management and Social Communication at the Jagiellonian University. However, the main aim of the study is to understand how a group of students FoMaSC UJ obtains information needed to write a thesis, which information needs has then, what sources of information are used, what obstacles it encounters and how to cope with problems faced. A technique, which I used for research is a questionnaire in electronic form. 136 people took part in a research, 74 of them were at the stage of preparing a thesis. The survey has demonstrated that majority of the respondents uses browser window/catalogue/database to enter specific words/sentences when searching for materials required for writing a dissertation. During this process, respondents restrict the results of the research mainly to the subject of the publication similar to the subject of their dissertations. The study group often reaches for traditional as well as electronic publications. The biggest challenge/obstacle for the study group turned out to be payable access to the materials searched on the Internet that are required for their dissertations. While in the library, the main issue is the lack of necessary publications or possibility of using the materials only in the reading room. Most frequently, the respondents tried to deal with these obstacles on their own by changing the method of information searched, and in case of any problems in the library, by visiting the same library at other time or by looking for the materials in a different library.
