On a basis of the analysis of archived ice charts for 1997–2016 calculations of changes in the stages of sea ice development composition in northeast part of the Kara Sea during the autumn and winter period are executed. The obtained data allowed establishing with 10 days discretization the changes in quantity (area) and corresponding thicknesses for all stages of sea ice development and the periods of their prevalence from the beginning till the end of ice formation. The essential distinctions between the stages of ice development composition of the drifting and fast ice exhibiting in an earlier appearance and different relative quantity of the fi rst year ice within the fast ice zone are revealed. Study of sea ice development composition in the northeast part of the Kara Sea during the “cold” and “warm” climatic periods, at the fi nal stage of ice formation revealed their essential distinction. Such studies were not performed earlier. Its results supplement ice conditions characteristics of northeast part of the Kara Sea and can be used when developing techniques of the ice navigation conditions forecast in winter time. На основе анализа архива электронных ледовых карт за 1997–2016 гг. выполнены расчеты возрастного состава ледяного покрова в северо-восточной части Карского моря в осенне-зимний период. Полученные данные позволили установить с декадной дискретностью изменения количества (площади) и соответствующие им толщины льда всех возрастных градаций и периоды их преобладания с начала формирования ледяного покрова и до его завершения. Выявлены существенные различия в возрастном составе дрейфующих и припайных льдов, проявляющиеся в более раннем появлении однолетних льдов в припае и в относительном их количестве.Исследование возрастного состава льдов в «холодный» и «теплый» климатические периоды в завершающей стадии формирования ледяного покрова северо-восточной части Карского моря выявило их существенное различие.Подобного рода работы ранее не выполнялись. Ее результаты дополняют режимные характеристики ледяного покрова северо-восточной части Карского моря и могут быть использованы при разработках методик прогноза ледовых условий судоходства в зимнее время.
