Description
Summary:In this study, we investigated how the track and signs of animals are changed under the influence of various factors such as time and season in the inventory conducted for big wild mammal animals in Isparta-Gölcük Natural Park. Furthermore, we researched what need to know for a proper recognize of these based on the modifications occurred on track on sign. Reasons for variations have described with varied tracks or sign. Observations were conducted in 1250 sample areas. In each plot, the track and signs belonging to the mammalian big wild animals, which are hare (Lepus capensis L.), wild boar (Sus scrofa L.), badger (Meles meles L.), beech marten (Martes foina L.), fox (Vulpes vulpes L.) and wolf (Canis lupus L.) were recorded. The track and signs of the wild animals were shown variation based on the factors such as nature, diet, time on wind. How these factors influence track and signs in terms of content, consistence, density, shape and structure was determined. Finally, in the light of related literature and experiences gained in this study, we underlined the important points for researchers who may carry out similar studies on animal track and sings.
