Summary: | The aim of the experiment was to investigate the effects of fertilization with sludge obtained from the municipal wastewater treatment geotub: biomass productivity and biochemical composition of the local cv. Gigant, giant knotweed as Sakhalin knotweed, Polygonum sachalinense, created in the Botanical Garden Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, registered in the Catalogue of Plant Varieties and patented by the State Agency on Intellectual Property of the Republic of Moldova. The experiment involved the following treatments: control without fertilizer and sludge application dose of 50 t/ha. Was established that sewage sludge fertilization contributes to accomplishing the genetic productivity potential of giant knotweed, increased content of protein, fats, nitrogen free extract and diminish raw cellulose in harvested biomass, which can act beneficial for gas forming potential and bio methane productivity. Implementation of this species contribute to solving acute problems - storage and use of sewage sludge, quality assurance of biomass for renewable energy production and raise living standards in rural area.
