Summary: | In Romania, sea buckthorn grows spontaneously or in culture. The aim of the study was the analysis of the biological behavior of some autochthonous varieties of sea buckthorn, in the climatic conditions of the farm located in Bacău County, in order to certify its ecological production. Methods: For the implementation of the ecological culture system, a series of laboratory analyzes were carried out in order to determine the quality of the fruits. The main technological processing flows implemented within the farm for processing white sea buckthorn were for fruit, organic juice, organic oil, and powder. The evaluation of the finished products demonstrates their superior quality resulting from the application of new technologies used in processing juice pressing extraction, vacuum drying at max 600C, and supercritical CO2 extraction of sea buckthorn oil. The waste collected from the production process, because it still contains a large number of antioxidant compounds, can be further used in other production processes such as: obtaining premixes for animal feed, and bio-compost, thus being able to be included in another category of value, that of the by-product, applying the principles of the circular economy.
