Description
Summary:Interrelations between fish populations in the Barents Sea. Proceedings of the fifth PINRO-IMR Symposium. Murmansk, 12-16 August 1991. Based on the model CAPELIN used with management of the Barents Sea capelin stock until 1986, a model that is structured on age and sex is constructed. The predation on the mature part of the stock is connected to the size of the cod stock, and predation parameters calculated by the area-structured multispecies model MULTCPEC are used. The effect of the geographica1 overlag of sod and capelin is modeled using a scalar overlap index variable. The uncertainty connected to the modeled biological processes are displayed and the future use of the model for management of capelin briefly discussed.
