Description
Summary:The text analyses the permanent tendency of Croatian film criticism towards populist and socially engaged films. Examples of such a tendency are found in different periods, as well as posterior evaluations. Regardless external, social and ideological, differences, a preferred choice of Croatian film critics, and most of the directors, the conventional form remains, which is opposed by a small number of films, beginning with Koncert by Branko Belan in 1954, until the last 15 years with a few films such as Kamenita vrata by Ante Babaja, and Lukas Nola’s Nebo, sateliti and Sami.
