Summary:Fertilized eggs obained from female krill in Antarctic waters were transported to the Australian Antarctic Division in Tasmania, the eggs were successfully developed to larval, juvenile, subadult and finally mature adult stages in the laboratory. Under experimental conditions of unlimited food supply, at 0°C and in complete darkness, the length of the life cycle from egg to egg was 3 years.
