Description
Summary:Five oceanographic sections along the Aleutian Islands near Amchitka were occupied during the winter of 1968 by the U.S. Bureau of Commercial Fisheries' R/V George B. Kelez to determine the winter characteristics of water properties, circulation, and biota. Observations included trace metals, nutrients, chlorophyll a , Zooplankton samples, and long-line fishing for salmon. Observed ocean transport was northward through Amchitka Pass, but south of Amchitka it was westward in the extension of the Alaskan Stream.
