Description
Summary:Weakly metamorphosed schists and graywackes (green schist facies) of the Precambrian Patuxent Formation were investigated by scanning electron microscope in 3 structural-substantial types in the cutting positions 'schistosity', 'plane s(1)' and 'cutting ac'; the corresponding characteristic phenomena with reference to the development of planes are represented. The density of the cleavage planes and a length statistic with reference to the direction in the cutting ac are used as measurable values; for the submicroscopic 2-crossing of the plane system s(1), a possibility of correlation with the macroscopic fan-inverted fan of schistosity is obtained. -from Current Antarctic Literature
