Description
Summary:These data contain climate layers used in the publication: Heikkinen, R. K., Leikola, N., Aalto, J., Aapala, K., Kuusela, S., Luoto, M., & Virkkala, R. (2020). Fine-grained climate velocities reveal vulnerability of protected areas to climate change. Scientific Reports, 10(1), Article 1. The dataset contain gridded growing degree days (GDD), monthly climatic water balance (WAB), and mean January air temperature averaged over 30-year periods covering Finland and northern Fennoscandia N > 66.5° at the spatial resolution of 50 x 50 m. Baseline conditions represent 1981–2010, while future conditions represent averages of 2040–2069 and 2070-2099 under three emission scenarios: RCP2.6, RCP4.5 and RCP8.5. Please refer to Heikkinen et al., for details about the calculation of the variables.
