Summary:The interview is about the early life history and World War II service of Mr. Mike Rosenkranz. He grew up in New York City in the 1930s and 1940s, during the Depression. At the age of eighteen, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps where he trained as a control tower operator and a high-speed radio operator and later served at a weather outpost in Greenland during World War II. The interview ends with him hitchhiking across the country and later meeting his wife Sylvia.
