Summary:This note provides a validation study for the RUPUICUV model implemented in the current version of the ESCADRE Mod 1.2 and ASTEC V0.2 code systems. RUPUICUV is the module able to treat the Direct Containment Heating (DCH) of containment atmosphere. Experiments from KAERI and CE-SURTSEY series, in which a French cavity was modelled, are here used for RUPUICUV model assessment. RUPUICUV has been also successfully applied to prototypic reactor severe accident sequences. Some examples, e.g. investigating the load due to simultaneous hydrogen burning following the heat up of containment atmosphere by corium entrainment, are described.
