He often argued for the just use of beaches and an island, Antarctica. His first lecture to the Emory faculty dealt with the critical importance of a very small lighthouse in southwestern Europe. David, I am sure, would have enjoyed discussing the question of the United States' recognition of Cuba. Indeed, his home in Florida faces Cuba. I therefore dedicate this Tribute to my irreplaceable colleague, David Bederman. |
