Description
Summary:The Antarctica is the continent of science and peace, a shared inheritance of the whole humanity. It is the fifth largest continent and it is governed by a collection of principles, the Antarctica Treat System (PRABIR G. DASTIDAR y OLLE PERSSON, 2005). There are an important number of Spanish research groups contributing, with their publications, to the scientific production of the Antarctica. The production evaluation is intricate and difficult to precise, the scientific research is not an isolated activity but it dependents on external circumstances. This study evaluates the scientific production derived from the investigation in the Antarctica, by Spanish investigators, from 1962 to 2001, it analyses bibliometric indicators, the resulting social network and its dynamic behaviour.
