| Summary: | During the period 1978 to 1981, investigations were undertaken in thee watercourses in southwest Jutland on the seasonal movements of the eel population between the hibernation areas and the summer growth areas. Densities, size and age distribution in the shallow growth areas were quantified. The intensity of the silver eel migration was investigated in relation to physical factors. The total silver eel production of a stream system was calculated to 50 kg/ha and 40% of the production were found to be in steam fishery. |
