Description
Summary:Measurements of fall-out radioactivity in the Faroes in 1971 ar e presented. Sr-90 (and Cs-137 in most instances) was determined in regularly collected samples of precipitation, grass, milk, lamb, fish, sea water, bread, and drinking water. In addition, analyses of spot samples of potatoes, sea plants, vegetables, eggs, and human bone were carried out. Estimates of the mean contents of Sr-90 and Cs-1 37 in the human diet in the Faroes in 1971 ar e given.
