Description
Summary:ELECTRONIC FILE CHARACTERISTICS: 908 files; Text & Spreadsheets Adobe PDF, MS Word (.DOC), Excel (.XLS), and PowerPoint (.PPT); Viewers. PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: 1 computer laser optical disc (CD-ROM); 4 3/4 in.; 68.7 MB. SYSTEMS DETAIL NOTE: IBM-clone PC-compatible. ABSTRACT: The NATO-RTO Task Group assessed computer codes for the prediction of ice accretion on aeroplanes which is an important flight safety issue. The following topics were treated: -- state of the art -- review codes in use or being developed -- provide reliability data for regulation and certification -- ice shape comparison methods -- critical research needs. In order to compare the detail of codes a workshop was held involving experts from various institutions and companies. This CD-ROM version of the report contains MS PowerPoint and Excel spreadsheet appendices. Appendix C is the Numerical Indexes for Experimental and Predicted Ice Shapes. See also online version of report (minus appendices). Prepared in cooperation with Carleton University, Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Ottawa, Canada. For individual articles, see thru
