Summary:File characteristics: computer data (8209 files). Physical description: 1 computer laser optical disk; col.; 4 3/4 in. System requirements: CD-ROM drive; ISO-9660 compatible software driver. NOARL is developing a database of Compressed Aeronautical Chart (CAC) data for use in naval mission planning systems and digital moving map systems. CAC is distributed on Compact Disk Read Only Memory (CD-ROM). The CAC is a compressed form of Arc Digitized Raster Graphics (ADRG) data, which is distributed by the Defense Mapping Agency (DMA). DMA also distributes the CAC database. This special project announces the first prototype of the CAC database: a CD-ROM that contains chart data covering the eastern United States at a scale of 1:5000,000. The equivalent of over 11 Tactical Pilotage Charts (TPCs) are included on this CD-ROM, which has been assigned an MDFF Library number of CD-1990-A-MAP3-00000. Includes documentation, AD-A235 340.
