Summary: | This report results from a contract tasking University of Oslo as follows: The contractor will investigate magnetosphere and ionosphere coupling using meridian scanning photometers, spectrometers, all-sky imagers, and the incoherent scatter radar located on the island of Svalbard, Norway. The goal of this research proposal is to obtain a reliable understanding of disturbances in the polar ionosphere. Particular emphasis will be placed on mapping electron density patches near the cusp inflow region. |
