Summary:The purpose of this research was to provide expertise, guidance, and participate in the writing of publications on: (1) hydrographic characterization of the Iceland Faeroe Front (IFF), (2) energetics and correlations with data of August 1993 shipboard forecasts, (3) evaluations of shipboard forecasts, (4) the design of an optimum IFF forecast system, and (5) IFF predictions forced by inflow conditions derived from moorings. As a result of this research, the following articles (1) Real Time Operational Forecasting on Shipboard of the IFF variability, and (2) Real Time Regional Forecasting, were published.
